Wii

Nintendo’s new console, Wii, is slated for release in the US on Nov. 19. The company announced that 32 new titles will be available for the platform by year’s end.

30 classic games originally available on the NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis will also be available for download using the Wii Virtual Console built into the system.

What’s more, 530 games originally released on Nintendo’s GameCube will be playable because the Wii is backward compatible.

The complete list of software is available here: http://wii.nintendo.com/software.html

Wii is much more than a gaming system though. It also has “channels” built into the system that allows access to the internet. Wii owners will be able to access web pages for news, weather, research, or shopping. Click here for more information on these features: http://wii.nintendo.com/channel.html

Wii also contains built-in parental controls that let parents lock the console to prevent games of a certain ESRB rating from being played. Click here for more information on the parental control aspects of Nintendo’s products: http://www.nintendo.com/parents
